When the relative pronoun is object, who is used for people and that to refer to things.

Example

Ana: The place is charming, isn't it?

Sara: Yes, it is.

Ana: the people who live in this town come very often

Sara: do you eat out often?

Ana: Yes, I go out a lot to the restaurant where my mother works.

Sara: Wha do you eat there?

Ana: usually vegetable salads are very fresh

Sara: What is your favorite food?

Ana: I like vegetable salad and fish that is not very greasy
